A huge part of this project initially
was to address drainage and prevent future flooding
from occurring inside the client's lovely home. The
landscaping was part of an entire back yard re-do that
was going to be done in stages; studio space and
finishing plantings were to be added later by the
clients.
By creating the bones, the leveling required for
drainage, as well as a distinct intention for each
space~ huge lawn and soft play space/ graveled walk
thrus/ potential bench, private hang out space~ we
provided a larger space carved out for which their
preferred nooks would naturally evolve into.
